BIIDAASIGE PARK - TORONTO
Project type
Landscape + Architecture
Date
Summer 2025
Location
Toronto, ON
Opened in 2025, Biidaasige Park is part of the Port Lands Flood Protection project, transforming Toronto’s waterfront into a landscape that is both protective and welcoming. Berms, wetlands, and sculpted landforms defend against flooding while trails, lookouts, and steel bridges invite exploration.
My series captures the park at this formative moment, focusing on how design and engineering frame vistas, pathways, and gathering spaces. I emphasized the dialogue between natural systems and constructed forms, highlighting geometry, textures, and the play of light across new plantings. Documenting its earliest days of public use, the images show residents cycling, walking, and reconnecting with land once closed off – offering a visual record of how civic design, ecology, and community life intersect.
